In the past I have been able to embed quicktime.mov files into a myspace page, but recently it looks like myspace no longer supports embedding quicktime.mov files. Apparently there has been a virus developed for the quicktime player that takes advantage of the active x controls embedded in the player and hijacks the profile of any viewer's profile that plays infected quicktime.mov files.
I looked into it and cannot find a solid answer to whether or not myspace has banned quicktime.mov files for the time being. I believe that is what they have done since they didn't have much options at this time. I know that they have requested that apple fix the security hole while myspace monkeys find a solution from their end and disinfect the server.
For clarity, my question is "Has myspace banned embedding of quicktime.mov files"?
Quicktime.mov files and myspace?
I would use the "Contact Us" page on MySpace to get the most direct answer:
